Indicator: 30 - High School Completions

Why This Is Important
High school graduates earn substantially more than persons who leave high school without
graduating.
Where We Stand
The percentage of persons aged 25 and older who have completed high school, either
by earning a diploma or a high school equivalency, increased in Maine and nationally through
2000, but Maine’s percentage fell somewhat thereafter. Maine’s rate has consistently
exceeded the nation’s.
