Maine Youth Opportunities Initiative
Ensure that Maine youth, who have been in foster care, have the necessary resources, opportunities, and supports available to them as they transition to adulthood. Supports to develop the knowledge, skills, and permanent connections that will promote healthy, productive and secure lives.
Currently, data has not been collected for this initiative. Below are some areas of interest proposed for possible future collection:
- Four Square Foundation as a key MYOI member will engage community partners to demonstrate an increase over the next two years in youth access to education, training, employment, health care, housing , financial literacy and asset development.
- Increase the number of permanent relationships for youth who transition out of foster care.
- Expand Friends of Youth Network – by end of year 4 expand in 3 communities and engage 125 youth
- Transition Opportunity Passport™ to Jobs for Maine Graduates to increase to up to 52 sites across the state and include financial literacy.
- Expanded youth leadership development and engagement efforts across the state.
